I make something everyday...
Definitely a budding crafter!!! The squares are great! xx
I think your daughter is a genius for being able to crochet granny squares! Does she want to teach me? Lol FrankieWww.knitwits-owls.blogspot.co.uk
Good for her. I think it's wonderful that she's starting so young. I first crocheted at about nine years old myself, and I hope my daughter will be ready to learn by then.
She is doing great:) the squares look pretty!!
It is so wonderful to pass on your love and gift of crafting. She is doing a great job, the squares are beautiful.
It's gorgeous that your daughter loves crocheting as well. The grannies look beautiful! Viola
It's fantastic that she has taken to it at such an age. I know most of us in our golden years were made to learn such skills and then didn't use them until we had our own families but these days it's hard to keep a child's attention when there is so many other things out there to occupy them so well done to Big Sis for taking up the hook and sticking with it.
I love granny squares. I learned myself to crochet last year. I have to say it took quite a while to get to grips with it. I just now need to try and improve beyond the grannies. Joan at www.aviewtothefells.com
Brilliant! My seven year old keeps asking to have a go, I think I need to spend some time showing her
I showed H chains and left her to that for ages. She made barbie scarves and belts and hair ties for herself. Then 6 months later I showed her double crochet and she made barbie blankets, beach towels and picnic rugs (with straight sides. Then a few months later I showed her the granny square. It has taken about a year!
Fantastic! Maybe a blanket?
I too love grannies they are so fabulous to make and look so pretty - cushion cover would be my suggestion as they come together so quickly. Look forward to see what she decides to make with them :)
Thanks for your crochet lesson plans, Jo :) So far my 7 yr. old Grand has not got the chain down but the last time I showed her how I do it I showed her with my arms around her in sort of a hug and I think that view made more sense to her...she just needs to be patient with herself. xx
